Stornoway Golf Club shows off as a wedding venue

The function room of Stornoway Golf Club was resplendent today (Saturday February 24th) as the club showed off its ability to host and enthuse about weddings…with a brochure pictured above which outlines how they can accommodate up to 150 guests in the main space - or 40-50 guests in the upper lounge for a more intimate event.  The brochure outlines the menus available and a few terms and conditions.

The secret ingredients…

As the professional who has seen wedding days take shape from early morning to late in the evening, allow me, if you will, to share some tips for a perfect day, gleaned over a lifetime of photographing weddings.

If there’s one day in your life when it pays to use professionals, it’s your wedding day.

The key to a great day is to plan ahead and start even earlier than you think you should.

Cabarfeidh Hotel Wedding Fair 2018

There was a great welcome at the Cabarfeidh Hotel on Saturday February 17th for the annual wedding fair…there was queue to enter when the show began at midday - with exhibitors from far and wide showing off their skills and services in wedding-related matters from make-up to music and cakes to confectionery.

Plotting the right course to sail calmly into a perfect wedding day…

The timing of your wedding dictates the speed at which you need to start acting on your plan to get married.

If you’ve decided on a summer wedding, there could easily be another half dozen ceremonies taking place the same day, so the early bookers will be the ones who get their first choice of reception venue, catering, Church, dressmaker, hairdresser, make-up artist and photographer.  Ideally, book everything a year or more ahead.

On the other hand, if you pick November, you have a fair chance of getting everything you want at a couple of months' notice, except the weather!
